Audi's A6 range has undergone a mid-life refresh, the changes including the introduction of a new RS6 saloon to join the existing estate car.
Like the more capacious estate the RS6 saloon is powered by a thumping bi-turbo V10 engine that develops a quite incredible 580bhp.
That's enough to allow the four-wheel-drive super-saloon to 62mph in just 4.5 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
If that 155mph maximum is not fast enough Audi offers the option to raise it to 175mph via an optional de-restriction package; should your commute take in a German autobahn.
The saloon version of the RS6 costs £76,160; the same £1,570 difference you'll pay across the A6 range between saloon and Avant estate models.
Like the rest of the A6 range the new RS6 saloon gets a few enhancements to increase its appeal against its rivals.
Inside and out the new A6 benefits from a number of revisions, including LED daytime running lights on S-Line models, new higher resolution instrument displays inside and the latest infotainment technology.
The engine line up has also been revised to improve economy and emissions, while the suspension has been tuned to increase comfort levels.
At the other end of the spectrum to the thumping RS6 Audi has introduced an 'e' model to the A6 line up, it able to return impressive consumption of 53.3mpg and emitting just 139g/km of CO2.
The new A6 range will be available to order from August with prices starting at £24,800.
