Contender for the single most beautiful new car on the market is undoubtedly Aston Martin's V8 Vantage, sure to lure many female by-passers into the showroom for a closer look. Now there's an open-topped version, the Roadster, and the sharp, feminine lines have not been lost in the transformation from closed coupé to soft-top convertible.
No, it won't be cheap, but it is possibly the ultimate car we believe to have a distinct attraction to the female of the species. The coupé version, despite its pretty lines, is quite masculine in concept, with its meaty V8-engined exhaust note and a chassis designed for hard driving over city cruising. The Roadster retains the same soulful engine (which can of course be heard all the better with the removal of the roof), but the Roadster is as much about being seen as it is about driving.
Supporting that argument, Aston Martin has extended the exquisite leather upholstery to the aerodynamic "speed humps" behind the passengers' heads. Simply put, it's gorgeous.
