Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupé

The Mazda MX-5 is credited with the rejuvenation of the small two-seat sportscar market and the latest version remains true to the original's concept of lightweight and simple, but stylish and sporting fun for the driver and one passenger. The formula is a proven success and though male buyers have to put up with 'hairdresser' jibes, the MX-5 is a great car to drive too. The female fraternity have taken it to their hearts, though, and it will be the lucky gal that receives the Mazda-embossed key ring wrapped up disguised as a woolly jumper this Christmas.

Mazda deviated a little from the original brief by launching the Roadster Coupé, a folding hardtop version of the MX-5. It is one of the most cleverly engineered cars of its type though, with no loss of luggage room and only a modest increase in weight. In fact, it's the only MX-5 to have in these days of security consciousness and it is also a lot cosier then the soft-top version in inclement weather, which gives you a reason to justify getting one as a pressie at this time of year!
