The Nissan Micra C+C is unashamedly aimed at female buyers. First of all, it is based on the distinctive Micra hatch, itself a favourite with women. Then Nissan chopped its roof off and replaced it with a slick and trendy folding hardtop, a cinch to erect or retract. At the same time, the interior received a freshen up and the rear end received a little calculated nip and tuck, ensuring that the C+C looks elegant with the roof down and quite different to the hatch with it raised.

To further catch the eye of the girl that wants it all for Christmas, Nissan has launched several special versions that few self-respecting men would be seen in the same road with, never mind in the driving seat. There's the C+C+C, or C+C by the designer Conran, with a bespoke paint job and pretty leather seats emblazoned with flowers. Even its glovebox is leather-lined... Then there's the special edition powder pink version launched in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. No need to feel guilty for getting such an extravagant gift this year if its purchase brings about some good too. It's the season to give after all...
