Volkswagen's BlueMotion range of low emissions, high economy cars will be greatly increased in the UK in March.
BlueMotion versions of the Golf, Golf Plus, Jetta and Passat models will go on sale using a 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine.
For the Golf BlueMotion, this means 62.8mpg fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of 119g/km to sneak it under the forthcoming London Congestion Charge zone free entry limit.
The Golf BlueMotion will cost from £15,565, while the Golf Plus starts at £16,765.
Buyers will pay from £16,260 for a Jetta BlueMotion, while the Passat version begins at £17,260.
BlueMotion works by revising the aerodynamics of the cars to make them pass more freely through the air.
Other changes to BlueMotion models include a filter to catch soot from the exhaust caused by diesel fumes.
