The thought of being a passenger in a Lamborghini Gallardo at maximum speed is probably enough to make most people anxious...
So how about doing it when the driver is completely blind? Brave co-pilot Guillaume Roman accompanied Luc Costermans in an orange Lamborghini Gallardo as he set the Blind Speed Record at 192mph at an airstrip in Istres, southern France.
Costermans, who was blinded four years ago in an accident, smashed the precious record of 167mph, set by British driver Mike Newman in a BMW M5 three years ago - who now aims to take the title back!
The blind speed wars show no signs of abating just yet, as Newman is planning to break the 200mph barrier in a Keating TKR.
Belgian Costermans, 43, who two years ago piloted a light aircraft across France, dedicated his record to F1 racing driver Philippe Streiff, who was disabled in an accident during the 1989 Brazilian Grand Prix.
