British sports car maker Lotus has joined with Dutch supercar builder Spyker to develop new models.
The two companies have signed an agreement to share parts and car platforms.
This deal will include Spyker's new C8 Aileron supercar and should also see new Lotus models appearing in the future.
Lotus is noted for its engineering prowess in developing sports cars.
Spyker boss Victor R Muller said: 'Lotus has come to the conclusion that they need to intensify their cooperation to the point where we intend to share parts and platforms.'
Mike Kimberley, chief executive of Lotus, said: 'Lotus is very pleased to be identified with Spyker and its high brand image with ground-breaking cars.'
