Though the Jaguar company is actually owned by Ford and is technically American, all of its cars are produced in the UK and the vast majority of the design and engineering is also carried out here. Of course, the Jaguar brand is synonymous with England and traditionally English gentlemen.

The world is a fast-changing place though and Jaguar was in danger of becoming an endangered species. The latest XJ saloon for instance is a fine car and technically advanced, but it doesn't look it, does it? It was generally agreed that the Jaguar image needed a revamp and a very fine starting point is the new XK coupe. Here is a technically advanced GT car that is fabulous to drive and good value for money, yet crucially, looks like a modern sports car. Rule Britannia has become Cool Britannia.
