SLR McLaren 722 Edition

McLaren, perhaps more famous for its Formula One exploits than its sublime F1 supercar, is partially owned by Mercedes-Benz, which makes more sense of the joint-effort SLR McLaren supercar. Oddly, its claim to fame is being the fastest car with an automatic transmission, but that's hardly relevant next to the incredible 5.4-litre supercharged V8 that powers it.

Somebody within the company wasn't quite happy with the regular SLR's 617bhp and 575lb.ft of torque though and so an even higher performance version was created. The 722 Edition celebrates the starting number of Stirling Moss's 300 SLR in the epic 1955 Mille Miglia and styling details on the new car mimic Moss's racer. Not only that, the 722 Edition gained an engine upgrade, resulting in 650bhp and 605lb.ft of torque. Needless to say, top speed is well in excess of 200mph, with speeds over 230mph quoted.
