Korean car maker, Ssangyong, currently makes a range of large 4x4s and an aesthetically-challenged (but very practical) MPV. However, the company plans to revitalise its image and line-up by the introduction of a new concept car at the Paris Show.
Though Ssangyong claims that its C200 show car is an 'urban compact SUV', this designer sketch reveals a far more car-like creation than any other model in the line-up, more in keeping with the current trend for crossovers.
The vehicle on display in Paris is not the final production version, but Ssangyong has already confirmed the showroom model's specification.
Power comes from a new 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 175bhp and driving through a six-speed manual gearbox. Although the show car employs a sophisticated four-wheel drive system Ssangyong hinted at a future front-wheel drive only model too.
The new C200 will be unveiled early on October 2nd by Hyung-tak Choi, Ssangyong's CEO and president.
