We've put this one under the 'concept' banner, but really what you're seeing here is a near production ready SEAT Ibiza estate car. Strip away some of the glitzier details - and leather-lined interior - and this is a car you'll be able to drive soon. And it looks fantastic, the longer IBZ so smart you have to wonder if anyone will take a second look at its bigger relatives once this beauty hits the showrooms.
What's all the fuss about?
There's little really to get excited about except the looks, but that's not a problem in a market that's usually stifled by rather unadventurous designs. The IBZ concept does boast some more space, and at its unveiling in Frankfurt that boot was big enough to carry the UEFA League Trophy, celebrating SEAT's sponsorship of the football championship. More likely to be carrying children's buggies and the likes in production guise, the IBZ should be on the roads within 12 months.
Any new technology?
As we've said, the IBZ brings little to the party except those good looks. All the LED lights of the show car are likely to be lost on the production version to help keep costs sensible.
Will it ever see the light of day?
Absolutely, the IBZ will join the three- and five-door Ibizas in SEAT showrooms within the next year or so. For families wanting a practical, good looking machine it's likely to sit right at the top of the list, SEAT's usual sensible pricing and decent standard levels of kit sure to make it as attractive a buy as it is to look at.
