Peugeot 308 CC prices announced

French maker Peugeot has unveiled more details on its eagerly anticipated 308 Coupe Cabriolet, which arrives in showrooms on 1st June. Starting at £19,495 for an entry-level petrol version and rising to £24,295 for a range-topping diesel GT, the 308 CC will go head to head with small cabrios like the VW Eos and the Vauxhall Astra TwinTop - and is priced somewhere between the two.

Petrol power comes from a 1.6-litre VTi 120 petrol engine and a pair of THP 140 and 150 units, while diesel fans can opt for HDi 110 or HDi 140 oil burners. An HDi 136 is also available with an automatic gearbox.

Three trim levels will be available: Sport, SE and GT. Bottom rung Sport models get alloy wheels, air conditioning, a remotely locking glove box and centre armrest box, leather steering wheel and six airbags - making this a very well equipped cabrio. SE trim adds bigger 17-inch alloys, automatic headlamps, parking sensors, climate control and an upgraded stereo, while GT cars get even bigger wheels, an even better JBL stereo and the Airwave neck warming system.

In addition, 100 specially numbered GT100 editions will be available at launch, adding electric seats and a plethora of 'GT100' branded interior parts for a £100 premium over the standard GT spec.

We'll be putting the 308 CC to the test very shortly, so look out for our review to get the definitive verdict on the sun seeking French newcomer.
