Citroen has revised its C4 hatchback to help it compete against refreshed and all-new rivals from Ford, Volkswagen and Renault.
The changes to the C4's styling are slight, they include a new grille and bonnet, revised rear lights and new alloy wheel styles.
Inside, Citroen has concentrated on improving quality with new high-grade materials, the C4 also now available with Citroen's latest NaviDrive sat nav system.
New engines also feature in the revised C4 range, the French company working with BMW to develop a pair of new petrol powerplants.
The first is a 1.6-litre 16-valve unit that develops 120bhp and returns 42.2mpg, economy improving over the outgoing 110bhp engine despite the increase in performance.
A higher performance version with a turbocharger is also offered, the new engine delivering 150bhp and the ability to return 40.9mpg.
Adopting Michelin's latest low-rolling resistance tyres on the C4 has allowed Citroen to make improvements to the CO2 output and mpg of the existing HDI turbodiesel engines, too.
