A quick trawl looking for a Ford Focus CC turned up a gem with a £7,861 saving. Pay full price for the economical 2.0-litre TDCI CC-2 and you'll be looking at a figure in excess of £20,000, but we turned up one for £12,690.

This is a good-looking, well-equipped and economical drop top to enjoy this summer for the sort of money you might pay for a bread-and-butter level Focus hatchback. The Focus CC handles beautifully, will return economy of over 40mpg if driven sensibly and has a quick opening and secure folding hardtop. For £12,690 we're tempted ourselves.
