Citroen supercar to tackle Goodwood

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is famous for springing a few surprises, and this year is no different as Citroen confirms its sensational 'GTbyCitroen' supercar concept will climb the famous one-mile hill during the event.

The supercar was first seen in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on the PlayStation3, and so popular were its sleek, futuristic lines that Citroen crafted a replica and gave it a surprise debut at last year's Paris Show in October. This year it has already been seen completing laps of the Nurburgring and Le Mans, but now we in the UK will get a chance to see the concept close up.

The GT will be part of a roster of exotic cars climbing the hill during the Sunday Times Supercar Run at Goodwood, and though there's no suggestion Citroen will take this concept anywhere near a production line, there is the suggestion that some of its design features will translate to future Citroens. Its wraparound windscreen, multi-section front splitter and diamond-effect 21-inch wheels might just appear on future C2s. Or perhaps not.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a ticket-only event so call 01243 755055 to book yours now, or try online at www.goodwood.co.uk.
