Another Bugatti 'special'

For a company that only builds a handful of cars a year Bugatti is certainly proud of its heritage, producing more one-off and special edition models than any other manufacturer around. The latest celebrating the supercar firm's history is the Sang Bleu, this one-off built to commemorate 100 years of the marque.

Based on a Grand Sport - Bugatti's open-topped model - the Sang Bleu's paintwork uses a two-tone design incorporating its build materials, aluminium and carbon fibre. The aluminium panels are highly polished to a mirror-like finish and the carbon fibre weave is tinted in a royal blue tone.

Riding on diamond-cut, 'midnight' coloured wheels, the Sang Bleu also comes with a special Gaucho leather finish inside. Revealing the new car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, California, in front of the sort of multi-millionaire car nuts who have the means to afford it, Bugatti hasn't said whether it's producing just the example on show or whether it'll build a limited series. Whatever, Bugatti fans who miss out on this one can be assured that a new special, one-off edition will be rolled out again soon, which on current form is more than likely to be the next car to be built at Bugatti's Molsheim facility.
