Ford dealers can expect an influx of ST owners following the announcement of an officially sanctioned performance upgrade.
The Mountune Performance package will be offered from selected Ford dealers, its fitment having no effect on the vehicle warranty.
With the new kit the power increases from 222bhp to 256bhp, torque also swelling from 320Nm to 400Nm at 2,500rpm.
Those increases allow the Focus ST to record a 0-62mph time some 0.6 seconds faster than the standard car, the Mountune equipped ST covering the benchmark sprint in just 5.9 seconds.
To achieve the increase in performance the kit adds a bigger intercooler, a high-flow air filter and revised engine calibration on the 2.5-litre turbocharged powerplant.
Costing £1,120 plus fitting, further Mountune Performance package for other Ford models are expected to be offered soon.
