Forget riding out the storm in this monster luxury machine - it could create its own. With a huge 6.0-litre V12 turbocharged engine producing 612bhp - and a quite staggering 738lb.ft of torque - the Maybach 62 S has the grunt to reverse the earth's rotation. It needs it too, as along with being tasked with hauling around some of the world's most wealthy people the Maybach 62 has its own bulk to shift. A not insignificant 2,855kg of it to be precise. That's in standard form mind, before you've added some of the more lavish optional items and oh-so-important crate of Krug Grand Cuvee in the boot.
Yet despite its enormous bulk the massive 62 S can shift at quite alarming rates, 62mph arriving in a scarcely believable 5.2 seconds - that's Porsche 911 pace. Even so it's difficult to justify the £345,000 or so this car costs, when a Mercedes S-Class will do the job just as well, for a fraction of the money, and with a good deal less weight.
