Chris Evans' winning bid for a classic Ferrari has set a new world record price paid for an open-top Ferrari.
The Radio 2 DJ made a successful bid of 7,040,000 Euro (£5,632,000) for a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California.
Joining the other classics in Evans' collection, the Ferrari is reckoned to be the most desirable open-top from the Italian supercar maker.
The California is also the forerunner of Ferrari's all-new convertible model of the same name that is due to be unveiled at the Paris motor show in October.
Evans was accompanied by his golf professional wife Natasha Shishmanian at the auction.
The sale was held in Maranello, Italy, which is the home of Ferrari.
