Enzo Ferrari
Note that we have not made a mistake in the headline, but this Italian supercar is known not as the
Ferrari Enzo, but the Enzo Ferrari, in celebration of the company's illustrious founder, Enzo himself.
Following on from the raw F40 and the less celebrated F50, the Enzo was produced as the ultimate roadgoing Ferrari, utilising as much motorsport technology as possible, in marketing speak, bringing the Formula One experience to a few lucky owners.
In fact, 399 buyers were fortunate enough to be 'allowed' to purchase the Enzo when it was launched in 2002, including some well known names such as Jay Kay (Jamiroquai), Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart and of course Michael Schumacher.
For a not inconsiderable US$643,330, the buyer received an all carbon-fibre supercar powered by the latest generation 6-litre V12 engine with 650bhp at its disposal. Claimed acceleration figures include 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds and 0-100mph in just 6.6 seconds. Top speed is 217mph.
