Jaguar XK Convertible

Depending on your age, you're likely to remember the E-type as one of the most desirable cars ever produced. It still comes out on top in surveys asking for votes on the most beautiful cars in the world. Running a classic can take a lot of hard work though and it is rarely recommended that your hobby car is your only mode of transport.

Thankfully, Jaguar's latest sportscar, the XK, is a bit of a looker itself, taking obvious styling cues from its illustrious forebear. If you're a keen driver you'll prefer the Coupé, but the Convertible makes a decent fist of a twisty road too and despite the new XK being obviously targeted as a younger buyer than the previous car, the Convertible is probably the more mature option. For the ultimate incarnation of the current breed opt for the XKR version, which packs a supercharged V8 under its louvred bonnet and four exhaust pipes out the back to make sure everyone knows you don't plan on hanging about.
