Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Prancing Police Horse

Professional car thieves will be relieved to hear that the Government has no plans to add this police-liveried Ferrari 612 Scaglietti HGTS to the nationwide traffic cop fleet. Or maybe they won't be relieved - for what better way to travel to the police station after arrest than in the Prancing Horse's flagship grand tourer? In fact, crime might very well go up.

Either way, it's not going to happen. The four-seat V12 monster was donated by Ferrari to run in the UK leg of the maker's 60th anniversary relay last year. Volunteers from five police forces across the country were chosen to drive the Scaglietti 1,500 miles from Belfast to London - and you can bet there was no shortage of volunteers for that particular extra-curricular activity. The £200,000 cop car was also used to promote Think!, the government-sponsored road safety campaign.
