When looking around for suitable items for this year's list of Christmas car pressies, the idea of a car stereo was surfaced and then rejected as being a bit old hat in a world obsessed with the iPod, but then we were shown a new head unit offered by Clarion and thought it was worth including.
The DB568RUSB (yeah, catchy name, isn't it?!) features a USB port, which allows the docking of any USB memory stick full of music. So, download your music to your computer, pop it onto a memory stick and just plug it into the stereo. Easy! None of this faffing about with your MP3 player sliding all over the dashboard or unsightly cables.
Prices range from about £80 to £140 and if you don't have a USB memory stick, this unit will still play MP3s and WMA files off a regular CD. How quaint.
