Jeep goes soft

Jeep has added soft-touch materials to the Grand Cherokee to give it a more luxurious feel.

The dash is now covered in the soft-touch material and there are new cabin colours and textures too.

Driver comfort is improved as the steering wheel can now be adjusted for depth as well as angle.

The main instruments has have been lightly restyled, along with a new floor console and cupholders.

Jeep also now offers its MyGIG entertainment and information package as an option.

MyGIG includes a touch screen satellite navigation system and 20GB hard drive that can store up to 1600 songs.

On the outside, the revised Grand Cherokee has new front grille, spoiler and reshaped headlights.

There's also a new S-Limited model that has the body styling, wheels and interior of the hot SRT-8 Grand Cherokee but a 3.0 V6 turbodiesel engine in place of the SRT-8's V8 petrol engine.

The S-Limited costs £32,495 and the revised Grand Cherokee range starts at £26,995.
