Car buyers interested in the all-new VW Golf can now place their order for January delivery, with prices starting at £13,150.
Entry-level 'S' models come as standard with a host of safety equipment, including ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) and seven airbags, as well as air conditioning, remote central locking and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors.
Just two other trim levels are available from launch: SE and GT, though customers have a choice of four petrol and two diesel engines.
Petrol options include 120 and 158bhp versions of the 1.4-litre TSI unit, while the 2.0-litre TDI engine is available in either 108 or 138bhp tunes.
Until the new GTI arrives next year, the GT model will be the sportiest model in the line-up, featuring sports suspension, sports seats with Alcantara trim, 17-inch alloy wheels and fog lights as standard.
In total, there are 24 different models to choose from, in three- and five-door body styles, ranging from £13,150 to £20,980. VW has yet to announce when its frugal new BlueMotion model will go on sale.
