Crowd pleaser or motoring teaser?

A definite crowd pleaser, as the ECOnetic Fiesta taps in perfectly to the current demand for green motoring. With a CO₂ figure of just 98g/km and an astonishing combined fuel consumption figure of 73.6mpg Ford's new baby is worth making a song and dance about. Ford did exactly that with singer Alesha Dixon introducing the new car to the world's motoring press.

The ECOnetic's road tax-dodging 98g/km CO₂ rating is the talk of the show, this frugal, low emitting Fiesta stealing the rest of the Fiesta range's thunder on the Ford stand. Even the more sporting Fiesta Zetec S and Focus RS are playing a supporting role to the environmentally-friendly star at the show. Frugal it may be but the ECOnetic Fiesta should be just as fun to drive as its less parsimonious and higher emitting relatives, meaning green motoring can be enjoyable too.

Showroom soon or never to be seen?

ECOnetic models are driving Ford's sales hard despite the difficult economic climate. Indeed, the promise of free road tax, lower running costs and a sensible sticker price should mean the Fiesta ECOnetic flies out of Ford's showrooms when it arrives.
