Jaguar S-Type

In the same breath that Jaguar fans lamented falling sales they moaned about the fitting of a diesel engine for the first time under the bonnet of a Jaguar. Ironic, but true.

Thankfully, the powers that be at Jaguar realised that the company needed to keep up with market demand to survive so set about developing diesel options across the range including an excellent new V6 engine as fitted to the S-Type and XJ saloons. Take a drive in the S-Type diesel and you'll be hard pushed to tell that it is in fact diesel-fuelled; except perhaps for the substantial dollop of torque available from very low engine speeds.

There is decent pace on tap if needed, but this car's natural habitat is the motorway. With cruise control on and your bum cosseted by the comfy leather seats you'll arrive at the end of your journey fresh and relaxed, with the added bonus of few fuel stops.
