Porsche becomes mobile CV

When Andrew Blair bought his lovely new white Porsche Boxster, he probably didn't plan on modifying it - let alone doing so himself using a black marker pen.

In what must be the most extravagant CV ever, the Bristol-born man has scrawled his name, job title and telephone number on the back bumper of his Boxster in the hope of finding a new job.

It's because, like almost two million fellow Brits here in the UK, Blair finds himself out of a job as a victim of the credit crunch, having lost his construction manager's position in Dubai. He said: "At the end of day if I don't have a job I can't afford the car, simple as that. Initially we were in a bubble here in Dubai thinking we were immune from the credit crunch and really being arrogant about it."

It's another example of just why the car market is in the mire at the moment - although Blair's ingenuity is impressive. It could backfire, though - if he doesn't get a job, he'll still have to pay £400-£500 to have the £40,000 Porsche's bumper re-sprayed. Maybe a piece of paper stuck to the inside of the windscreen might have been a better idea?
