Nissan has publicly stated that it will be selling electric cars in the next decade and this Denki Cube Concept shows one possible way of achieving that. Denki is Japanese for electric, and while we've been officially denied the Cube in the UK the next-generation model will be sold in Nissan dealers. It's unlikely that when it's first introduced it will be able to be plugged into the mains, but a denki version may follow the more conventionally powered versions.
Power for the concept comes from a lithium-ion battery pack that's positioned under the floor. Such a lightweight, high-power battery would give any eventual production model a decent range and sensible charging time. Any production version is still some way off, but if Nissan wants to get people into electric vehicles then the cool battery-powered cube might be just the thing.
