AMG has produced some crazy machines and the ML63 is among the most bonkers of the bunch. Taking the ML SUV as a basis AMG slots its 6.2-litre V8 engine under the bonnet, delivering a quite incredible 510bhp and 464lb.ft of torque from AMG's free-revving V8. These figures are even more impressive when you realise that the AMG does without turbochargers - unlike every other competitor here. The result is a wickedly fast SUV, the ML63 capable of reaching 62mph in just five seconds.
Fitted with a seven-speed automatic transmission you'll be inclined to swap cogs yourself so glorious is the sound the big V8 engine makes. It handles sharply too, with poise that's not far off the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S when the roads get demanding. In summary, the ML63 is a hot-rod SUV that sounds fantastic, looks great and goes extremely quickly; indeed there's a lot to like about the ML63 - so long as you keep quiet about the fuel consumption.
