Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Turbocharged

Unveiled in Beijing this year the Cayenne Turbo S is perfect for those who want an even faster Cayenne Turbo. Porsche has always offered S versions of its Turbo models and with the Cayenne Turbo that small letter signifies a 50bhp increase in power to 550bhp. The growth in output has been achieved by optimised engine management, revised intake manifolds and new catalytic converters; the result is a Cayenne that can sprint to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds. That's 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard Cayenne Turbo - not a car that could ever be called slow.

The clever thing is that Porsche has managed to squeeze out that extra power without a ruinous effect on the CO2 emissions and fuel economy. Indeed, they remain exactly the same as the standard car at 19mpg combined and 358g/km. That power increase costs elsewhere though, the Turbo S a whopping £14,030 more than the £76,760 Turbo, and a further £5,800 needed if you want ceramic brakes to ensure it stops as quickly as it goes.
