Satellite navigation is being blamed by a Norfolk taxi driver for leaving him stranded in the middle of a river.

The driver was on his way to pick up passengers near King's Lynn, Norfolk and used his satnav to find the way.

However, the device directed him into the River Nar and the mini-bus he was driving became stuck.

Pat Bowles, of Streamline Taxis that runs the mini-bus, said: "Normal people would stop and back out, but the driver's satnav told him to keep going and that's what he did."

Mr Bowles sees the funny side to the incident and said: "The driver has been ribbed by his colleagues and they've come into work wearing snorkels.

"We've also had phone calls from customers asking if they can book river cruises."
