Retired seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher isn't taking his retirement too easy.
Instead of joining a bowling club the 39-year old spends his time at Ferrari helping develop its latest road cars.
The most recent car to have been touched by the F1 ace is the California, the company's new front-engined V8 roadster.
Unlike the more extreme cars Schumacher has had a hand in developing, such as the 430 Scuderia and Enzo Ferrari, the California is more of a Grand Tourer.
Schumacher said: “The Ferrari California is designed for everyday use and for weekends away whilst still guaranteeing all of the emotional impact that only an authentic Ferrari can deliver.”
It might be a bit less focussed than its 430 Scuderia relative, but the California still promises to offer scintillating performance.
The folding-hardtop car is able to reach 62mph in less than four seconds thanks to its 460bhp 4.3-litre V8 engine.
Due to be in showrooms next year, Schumacher describes his time developing the new California as "really fascinating and great fun."
More fun, we imagine, than traditional retiree pursuits like bowling and golf...
