MINI has unveiled the most potent cars in its range with the arrival of the John Cooper Works models, which go on sale in July.
Named after the famous racing driver and MINI tuner, the JCW models' turbocharged 1.6-litre engine is uprated to 211bhp and cover 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds.
Many of the modifications to the JCW MINIs have been adopted from the racing version, including its sports suspension and stronger brakes.
The John Cooper Works MINIs are easily spotted thanks to their 17-inch alloy wheels and JCW logos.
On the inside, there's a leather sports steering wheel, upgraded stereo and a speedo that reads all the way to 160mph.
The price of all this extra performance and ability is expected to be £20,500 for the MINI Hatch and £21,700 for the Clubman model.
