Porsche has announced that it will replace its four-wheel drive models of the 911 with revised models in October.
The Carrera 4 and 4S models will use the same new engines that have just been launched in the latest two-wheel drive 911 coupe and cabriolet.
For the Carrera 4, this means a new 3.6-litre engine with 345bhp, while the 4S gains a 385bhp 3.8-litre engine.
Both new engines provide lower emissions, better economy and greater performance.
Four-wheel drive remains a cornerstone of the two new models, but they will also have a new traction control system from the 911 Turbo model to deliver a keener driving experience.
A six-speed manual gearbox will be standard, but buyers will also be able to choose Porsche's new twin-clutch PDK sequential manual gearbox that shifts gear at the touch of a steering wheel-mounted paddle.
The four-wheel drive 911 models benefit from the same minor exterior and interior styling changes.
Sales begin on October 25 of the Carrera 4 and 4s 911 models.
