George Harrison MINI, Groovy
MINI has rolled out some truly woeful one-offs for various special causes but this most recent attempt really caught our attention as an exception. The one-off MINI is modelled on the MINI George Harrison used to run around in the '60s; including a cameo in the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour film. Like the car gifted to Harrison by Brian Epstein, the new George Harrison MINI is uniquely decorated with psychedelic images such as yantras and Sanskrit mantras.
It is to be presented to his widow, Olivia Harrison, at MINI United to be auctioned for the Material World Charitable Foundation - a charity set up by George Harrison in 1973. It'll appeal to both MINI and Beatle fans alike, the one-off certain to raise plenty of cash for George's charity. "George was a huge MINI fan and he would have enjoyed creating this new version. The fact that MINI's anniversary celebrations will also benefit our Foundation has made it an enjoyable as well as meaningful collaboration," said Olivia Harrison.
