One of the first mad machines to be built by MINI, the XXL made its debut at the 2004 Athens Olympics and is exactly as its name suggests. That's extra, extra long rather than large, the MINI XXL being six metres in length, the stretch in its wheelbase requiring an additional set of wheels at the rear.
Understandably, the space in the back is a bit more generous than in the standard hatchback. There's enough room behind the driver and front passenger to have a mini-party, the rear cabin's specification including retractable flat screen TVs, a DVD player and a phone. The latter is to communicate to the driver; perhaps to call to ask them to remove the rear section to reveal the pool in the boot. It might not be quite as big as the Olympic one in Athens, but it's plenty spacious enough for some fun. However, we wouldn't recommend trying to lounge in the pool when the car is moving. Not least because you're likely to get ticketed for not having a seatbelt; assuming you can stay in a slippery, mobile Jacuzzi in the first place.
