General Motors has big plans for the cut-price Chevrolet brand in Europe, though we're still not sure where it sits in the grand scheme of things next to our own Vauxhall marque. Nevertheless, Chevrolet Europe continues to roll out new models and the Ultra WTCC concept car shown in Paris this year hints at yet another one.

Those in the know will recognise that WTCC stands for World Touring Car Championship, a competitive series that Chevrolet already competes in successfully. Obviously Chevrolet sees its next family car continuing that and if the new car is half as good-looking as the concept then more established car makers may have a big problem on their hands.

A further hint at this car's place in the showroom is the presence of a 2-litre turbodiesel engine under the sharply contoured bonnet. Just imagine the concept without its racing suit on and you should be pretty close to the final version.
