Jaguar concept

Jaguar recently announced that the replacement for its ageing S-Type saloon would be called the XF, signalling a change in naming strategy that will link all Jaguar models under the 'X' tag and one must assume in a bid to associate the new car with the sporty XK. The XF will be built on the same all-aluminium technology as the XJ saloon and we believe that Jaguar will show a concept version at the Detroit Show.

Little else is know about the show car. Jaguar has issued the teaser photograph pictured here, though no name has been given to the concept. Jaguar only says that it is a significant new concept. Take a close look at the picture and you might spot the shut line of the rear door, which confirms our suspicions that this car previews the four-door XF. The rear light graphic and shape of the rear wing certainly look special, which is encouraging for the showroom model.
