Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Though a successful car for Mercedes-Benz, the C-Class traditionally has its largest following amongst German buyers. A new model debuts in Geneva and it's clear that Mercedes has designed it to appeal more than ever to a global market.

The new car has distinctive styling that is in part reminiscent of the S-Class, but much prettier. Mercedes has cleverly split the line-up to appeal to both conservative buyers and those that prefer a more modern car. Subtle styling tweaks, such as the radiator grille and detailing differentiate the Classic and Elegance levels from the sportier Avantgarde models. No doubt there will be AMG models too at a later stage.

Looks aside, Mercedes has increased the accommodation in the C-Class and added a wealth of new technology, including the option of a 4.0Gb music server. Mercedes also promises sharper handling thanks to something it calls 'Agility Control', with the option of 'Advanced Agility' for keener drivers. We'll take a closer look at the show.
