The Audi Quattro may have a prime time slot on Thursday evenings in Ashes to Ashes, but the British public still rate the Porsche 911 more highly.
In a poll of the nation's favourite cars from the 1980s, the Porsche came out top with 29% of the vote.
It just pipped the Audi, which gained 28% of the votes in the poll conducted by vehicle check company HPI.
Following someway behind in third and fourth spots were the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth (15%) and BMW M5 (12%) respectively.
The poll also asked about British driver's favourite cars from 1980's film and television.
A surprise winner was the Ford Capri from Minder, which gained 30% of votes.
This was followed by the Ferrari Testarossa used in Miami Vice (26%) and Back to the Future's DeLorean (23%).
