The Union Jack flag really is flying as it's now wrapped all over a 155mph Lotus Exige S.

Covering the entire body of the Exige, the flying flag design was the idea of stylists at Lotus Design.

Lotus was asked if it would contribute to a television programme called 'How Do They Do It?' on the Discovery Channel.

The programme wanted to find out how a car can be 'wrapped' to change its colour or add advertising slogans.

Wrapping specialist company Totally Dynamic was chosen to take on the challenge and the Lotus was picked as it has a complex set of curves.

It took a team of four skilled technicians 10 hours to cover the Exige in the vinyl film that has the Union Jack design printed on it.

Totally Dynamic's Adrian Rope said: "Our team was excited by the challenge and it was a pleasure working on such a thoroughbred car."

The one-off Union Jack Exige S will now join the Lotus Roadshow, which is touring dealerships around the UK to mark the company's 60th anniversary.
