Five stars of this year's LA Design Challenge

Five stars of this year's LA Design Challenge

The LA Auto Show is less than a month away, which means this year's LA Design Challenge entrants have broken cover. We pick our favourite five... Our keyboards have only just cooled down from the Paris Motor Show, but already the Los Angeles event is just around the corner. And this year a handful of makers are giving us a glimpse of a very interesting future, thanks to the annual LA Design Challenge, which asks competitors to come up with weird and wonderful concepts based on a specific theme. The remit for 2008 is 'Motor Sports 2025', with car designers asked to show us what racing might look like in 17 year's time. Freed from the shackles of dull reality, some fascinating concepts have been penned, so we've picked five of the best for you, from the awesome to the downright bizarre.
