Ford Ka, Fun Ford

Ford's original Ka was a major success for the company. It remained in production for twelve years with only minor tweaks here and there to keep it up to date. However, when the Blue Oval came to replace it, the decision was taken to work with Fiat and share the 500 platform and some of its engines. So would you be as well off opting for the stylish Italian?

It's true that Fiat's version is more traditionally pretty, though the Ka has a sporty look of its own that will certainly appeal to Ford fans. While it is thoroughly modern it does lose some of its predecessor's charm. Thankfully Ford's engineers worked on the chassis though, so the Ka is more fun to drive than the 500 - excluding the Abarth version that is.

Ford doesn't offer as many versions as Fiat does, but the Ka line-up starts at a lower price point with the Studio 1.2-litre model. A 1.3-litre turbodiesel is also available if you intend to venture beyond the city limits regularly.
