After a Jaguar and a BMW in this list you might find it difficult to get excited about a humble Fiesta. But you should, as Ford's new supermini promises to be one of the most exciting cars to arrive in '08. There's never been anything wrong with the way the Fiesta drives, but it's never looked particularly exciting compared to its more svelte rivals. Ford has taken this to heart and is promising far more exciting styling on the new car, its looks strongly hinted at by the Verve concepts that have been doing the rounds at the international motor shows lately.

The proper production car promises to follow the concept's bolder style, while the interior too promises to feel more upmarket than the current Fiesta. It'll also be more spacious, judging by the larger dimensions exhibited by the concept. Expect it to continue to offer class leading dynamic performance, meaning 2008's Fiesta will not only look sensational, but drive fantastically, too.
