Fastest Bentley is also greenest

Bentley has unveiled a single photograph of a new model it claims will be both its fastest production model ever, and its greenest. It's a bold claim, and though the Crewe maker hasn't released any official stats just yet, it has confirmed the car will be powered by E85 biofuel.

It appears the newcomer will be part of the Continental line-up, based on the familiar twin circular headlamps on the teaser picture - and it should be capable of over 200mph. The aggressive, de-chromed front grille and bonnet scoops show that this will be no stodgy executive barge.

Set to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March, Bentley describes the new car as 'stage one of Bentley's environmental commitment', suggesting there's much more greenness to come from the luxury maker. That could include the use of diesel engines from its VW parent in future, as well as hybrid technology, as it tries to fulfil its promise to reduce its CO2 emissions by 40% by 2010.
