When buying a car, there is often a battle between what the head says is right and what the heart desires, but when treating yourself to a sporty little number, the heart is often allowed a little more leeway and rightly so. This is where the Porsche Cayman comes in, as the cheapest model the company produces.
For not much more than £36,000, you could have a Porsche in your garage. That sentence won't mean much to the enthusiast that has his heart set on a Lotus, or to the buyer that points out that for the same cash, the BMW 335i Coupé is faster, better-equipped and far more practical. However, there are, understandably, enough consumers in the marketplace that just want to own a Porsche. Not that they'll ever be disappointed by the Cayman. It is still a hugely entertaining machine with competency running through ever well-damped and weighted control. We'd be a dull lot if we all drove the same thing.
