BMW is wasting no time rolling out a broader range of engines for its 1 Series Coupé and 3 Series Convertible ranges. Both new models come with BMW's EfficientDynamics to make them clean, lean and green.
The 125i Coupé uses BMW's 218bhp 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine to muster 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds and top out at 152mph, yet it will still turn in 35.8mpg thanks to EfficientDynamics minimising fuel-sapping drag on the engine.
BMW has not forgotten to make the 125i Coupé look the part and it comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and sports seats included in its £25,050 price.
The 125i Coupé goes on sale in March at the same time as the new 320d Convertible, which also uses EfficientDynamics, such as Stop-Start technology, to turn in an impressive 53.3mpg combined economy. It also emits a very respectable 140g/km of carbon dioxide.
The 320d Convertible still offers decent performance and manages 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds and a 139mph top speed. Prices start at £33,110 for the 320d SE and £35,735 for the M Sport model.
