African charity Transaid is offering ten people the chance to pit their driving skills against Top Gear's original Stig. While the identity of the current Stig still remains clouded in mystery the original black suited Stig from the first two series of Top Gear is Perry McCarthy, a racer who has tested Formula One cars and raced at Le Mans.
McCarthy's next racing challenge will be in his former Stig role, taking part in the charity race against ten auction winners. They'll no-doubt be hell bent on beating the black-suited speed freak so they can claim to be able to out drive the Stig.
The auction for the ten grid spots is for Transaid, a charity providing professional driver training in Africa in a bit to improve healthcare access and reduce road deaths and casualties. The race takes place at London's The Raceway kart track on August 25. You can bid for your opportunity to race the original Stig by visiting the Transaid website and following the 'Race the Original Stig' link.
