It's the coming together of two of Italy's favourite performance brands and the result of Alfa Romeo and Ducati's collaboration is, obviously enough, the 147 Ducati Corse. As well as celebrating each firm's sporting nature, it also handily coincides with Ducati winning the Moto GP World Championship with rider Casey Stoner.
The 147 Ducati Corse comes in one of four colours: black, red, grey or white. There are unique contrasting Ducati stripes down the sills of the car, 18in alloy wheels and red brake callipers to distinguish this limited edition model. On the inside, there are one-off sports seats with red stitching, aluminium pedals and more Ducati logos.
Alfa and Ducati have not ignored the under-bonnet area either. The 147 Ducati Corse model is powered by the 1.9 JTDM turbodiesel unit, which has been uprated to 170bhp resulting in 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 134mph.
To put the power down effectively, all 147 Ducati Corse models come with Alfa's Q2 limited slip differential and a Sport button to sharpen up the throttle response.
The 147 Ducati Corse will be unveiled at the Bologna Show and goes on sale in the UK in limited numbers early in 2008, though prices have yet to be announced. At the Bologna show, Alfa Romeo will also hand over a specially built Spider to Ducati's Casey Stoner.
